Youth Ambassadors

The Protect Kw’tsán Campaign is helping grow the next generation of Quechan leaders and land stewards. Rooted in the knowledge that no one understands how to care for this landscape better than those who were raised with it, the campaign creates opportunities for Quechan youth to lead, learn, and carry this work forward. Since 2023, youth ambassadors have strengthened their voices, connected with other Indigenous stewards, traveled to conferences, spoken on panels, organized community events, and led hands-on restoration efforts.

If you have a Quechan youth that is interested in signing up, please send an email here: programs@atsapaq.org

Community Cleanups

Over the last 3 years our ambassadors have organized 3 successful trash cleanups that have brought together Tribal members, community partners and local agencies. The cleanup projects have removed more than 1300 pounds of debris from places they love—proof that stewardship is not only a responsibility passed down, but a movement being carried forward.

Fishing & Birding Events

In 2026, the Youth Ambassadors have worked with local partners, state agencies and Quechan Parks and Recreation to offer more opportunity for Quechan youth to experience the land. Thanks to two incredible events this fall, over 80 community members have been able to join us on our lands and waters!
