There is a proposed transmission project within a sensitive area across the top of our Tribal homelands. Five hundred kilovolts, eighty-six miles, a right-of-way two hundred and fifty feet wide, towers taller than most buildings in this valley.

We told the company what is out there. It is in their own routing study: sacred mountains, places our ancestors are. We asked them to look at a different route. They wrote down that they looked, and they are moving forward with their proposal anyway.

The state is taking public comment until Monday, September 21, 2026, at 5pm Pacific Time.
